Hello everyone,
Thanks a lot for being a great inspiration and a real bank of ideas!
I have to make a confession, though… I have been overwhelmed by this course content and quite often felt ‘barely having my head above the water’ Readings? Well… I am not trying to complain about the amount of reading or content, it was just too much information from the areas I had no knowledge at all!
Don’t get me wrong, I have learnt a lot, but it is like (sorry for ‘non’ academic comparison) a TV show ‘West World’ when I sometimes had to watch the episode twice to understand what was going on! I will definitely have to do the same with the course materials.
I am sure I will have to reread and rethink lots of materials presented in this course!
I felt like some of my posts lacked that ‘academic’ element and I relied on my teaching experiences or/ and ‘citing’ and ‘quoting’ someone else or was exploring something some of you have been familiar with.
Anyway, I enjoyed working with all of you! 🙂
I did enjoy the course and it was definitely very challenging learning experience!
Thanks,
Natallia

Hi Natallia,
Thanks very much for your honest comments. I just wanted to let you know that your feelings are shared. The content is quite abstract at times, especially if you don’t have a baseline understanding to ground yourself. I found the content in Module 4 to be a little more well defined and applicable to my teaching; it would have been great to start the course with those kinds of connections.
The most important thing is to value the things you take away from the course. I am seven courses in, with over a dozen large assignments completed. I rarely get more than a comment or two for the hours of work I put in to each assignment, but I have come to learn that it is what understanding I gain in the process that is the most important. My work for this course might not be the most academic either, but what I have learned for myself through the content and projects are what I value most. That, and a pass 😉
Keep up the good work, Natallia, and enjoy the rest of your summer! I am going to check out your multimedia project now.
