Hello everyone!
My name is Katie Cox and I’m an instructional designer working for a software company in Vancouver. I work in customer onboarding and create e-learning courses and videos on how to use the software. I’m currently enrolled in my final two MET courses (!!!!!!) and I’m just a little bit excited about the prospect of being finished! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the program and definitely gained a lot of value from it, but I’m also pretty excited to get back to life as normal, or as normal as possible 🙂
I decided to share a photo of my desk for this introduction… I chose it because before reading the Module 1 materials for this course, I probably would have only considered my computer as a technological tool in this image… but reading about how text and technology are situated historically has given me a new perspective. I do so much work mapping out ideas and diagrams with simple pen and paper… something I never really thought of as tech before!
I look forward to this term with all of you!

Hi again Katie!
ETEC 511 definitely started me on my journey to re-thinking the definition of technology …but even that class didn’t have me thinking about text itself as a technology. (which is fascinating!)
Looking forward to working with you, one last time, again! XD

Hi Katie,
Interesting job you have, sounds like a field of work I would like to explore when I near the end of the MET (this is only my second course). Hope I get a chance to chat more!
