For this assignment I chose to look at the telegraph. I was fascinated with the stories my parents told of growing up in the days when the telegraph was commonly used. My video looks at the history of the telegraph, the impact it had on society and the ways it affected literacy.
I decided to use iMovie to create my documentary. I am not an Apple fan and actually don’t own any Apple devices but my sister offered to lend me hers. I found the software fairly user friendly although I had trouble trying to loop the audio and in trying to edit portions of the audio. One of the major challenges I had with the project was finding images for some of the scenes. I also had challenges loading to Youtube which I think has something to do with my lack of familiarity with the software.
Overall I enjoyed the creative process and I hope you will enjoy my final product.
