Welcome to this blog where I document my reflections through the semester for ETEC565C: Ableism, Equity and Technology lead by Prof. Heidi Janz and Prof. Michelle Stack.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand how we learn about disability and the attitudes, beliefs, values policies, and practices surrounding the topic
- Critically assess policies and practices surrounding educational technology through the lens of ableism
- Understand debates surrounding technology and disability
- Critique and recommend changes to design of technologies based on how values and beliefs of disability connect to these designs
- Collaborate on discourse around how educational technology, media, disability are interconnected with other forms of structural oppression
- Develop a practice grounded in understanding “nothing about us without us”
