{"id":795,"date":"2024-10-02T15:06:45","date_gmt":"2024-10-02T22:06:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec540thc\/?page_id=795"},"modified":"2024-11-15T14:13:10","modified_gmt":"2024-11-15T21:13:10","slug":"critical-learning-tasks","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec540thc\/critical-learning-tasks\/","title":{"rendered":"Critical Learning Tasks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The Critical Learning Tasks (CLT) are fundamental in laying the groundwork necessary for a <\/span><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">comprehensive understanding of the maker mentality, the maker movement, participatory <\/span><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">culture, and learning ecologies in connection with inquiry and liberatory design thinking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Through the CLTs, you will develop the ability to leverage equity, diversity, inclusion, <\/span><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">decolonization, and anti-racism (EDIDA) frameworks across various sectors, including <\/span><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">healthcare, corporate, education, and government. These CLTs<\/span><br class=\"textLayer--absolute\" role=\"presentation\" \/><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">encompass a range of multimodal activities and tasks such as scholarly readings, multiliteracy <\/span><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">text analysis, podcasts, guest speaker recordings, video analyses, and collaborative peer <\/span><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">discussions, all of which serve to expand your knowledge and stimulate your thinking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The selected readings for the CLTs will contextualize theories and ideologies related to the <\/span><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">establishment, execution, and sustainability of inclusive makerspaces within a participatory <\/span><span class=\"textLayer--absolute\" dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">culture, drawing from your personal and professional encounters.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Critical Learning Tasks (CLT) are fundamental in laying the groundwork necessary for a comprehensive understanding of the maker mentality, the maker movement, participatory culture, and learning ecologies in connection with inquiry and liberatory design thinking.
