Hello everyone!

Welcome to the ETEC 540 Weblog, one of the main resources for this course and the repository of most of your assignments. I am Ernesto Peña, the primary instructor of this course. You can find more information about me in the Instructor bio section, in the Prefatory Materials module on Connect. I am looking forward to meet you and work with you all.

I would like to give you a few notes on the course:

1. You’ll soon find out that we will be moving between some platforms, mainly the weblog (this platform), Connect and the Social Book platform. This can be frustrating for some, please be patient, you’ll get used to it.
2. It is very important for you to assign a category for every post you do in the blog, this will help your peers to locate your thoughts, but it will help me to gather your assignments for marking too
3. This is the course official e-mail: etec540.ubc@gmail.com. Please use it! Don’t keep your questions for yourselves
4. If you have an issue that you think would be better dealt via Skype or Google hangouts, please let me know, I am totally open
5. Assign categories to your posts (yes, again)
6. Any suggestion that could lead to improvement of this blog is welcome
