Hello From Sparwood

Hello.  My name is James Lund.  I am a relatively new VP at a rural elementary school.  I live in Sparwood BC with my wife and daughter.  This is my 9th class for this program.  I have to admit that I have been saving this one for last as a bit of a reward for getting through this far.

The picture I chose of one of my daughter Alice.  It was taken on a hiking trip a few weeks ago.   I thought that it was appropriate because it is a future generation using technology to see what is up ahead.  We really don’t know how to prepare our children and students for the future because we don’t know what the future will look like.  I am sure that past generations felt the same way, but was the pace of change ever so rapid?

I also feel an emotional connection to this image.  It is my daughter looking at me.  She is looking to me to pave the way for her when it is her time to take her place in the world.  She is watching how I live and interact with people and technology.  This gives me a moral imperative to do what I think is right and responsible; especially in regards to technology.Alice Binos
