Rob Theriault – Introduction
Hi everybody,
I’m Rob Theriault (pronounced like Ontario without the “On”). I teach a two year paramedic program and a third year advanced care paramedic program at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario. This is my 7th course in the MET program and it’s been an amazing learning experience so far.
I’ve been a paramedic for 31 years and an educator for 14 years.
I’m married to a grade 4 teacher and I have a 14 year old daughter who started high school this year.
cheers,
Rob

Welcome Rob! I appreciate your instructions on how to pronounce your last name. Every time someone asks my name I pronounce as it is (“in Spanish”), they don’t usually get it and then I have to explain “its like Earnest, but with an ‘o’ at the end”. The result, the “English” pronunciation of my name, sounds completely different than my initial attempt. Anyways, welcome to the course.
Hi Rob,
The instructions on how to pronounce your last name are very helpful – i don’t think I would have accurately determined that pronunciation on my own! I’m looking forward to reading about your insights and experiences as a paramedic and educator in the field.

Rob, great to see you on here! I can’t believe you’re already on your 7th course! Wow. I’m doing 6, 7, and 8 this term as I am taking the year off from teaching! Whew! Home stretch!
Good for you Victoria! I just finished my one year PD leave. I couldn’t handle more than two courses per semester, but then I’m much older lol. Now I’m back to full time teaching, part-time paramedic shifts and one course per semester…Yikes!
