Introduction – Grieve
I took this picture of Japanese Kanji characters hanging in my house. I liked the idea of text as Art. Simply explained this text is the phonetic spelling of my wife’s name.
Hello everyone, my name is Michael Grieve and I am a Vice-Principal at a secondary school in the York Region District School Board in Ontario.Prior to becoming an adminsitrator, I mostly taught Computer Science and Computer Engineering, but I did have a chance to teach Mathematics, Physical Education and Technology. It is a professional focus of mine to embed effective use of technology in both my practice and that of our teachers and students. I have found the ETEC courses and readings thus far very helpful in supporting this goal. I hope that this course expands my knowledge base and provides me with the resources to support the teachers in my school.
When I am not at work, or working on my courses, I enjoy hiking, jogging, yoga, and being at the gym.
This is my last ETEC course. It is nice to see some familiar names from previous courses. Looking forward to working with everyone again and making new connections in this class.

Welcome to the finish line Michael!
Hi Michael. I am a VP in a small elementary school and this is also my last course before my project. I really liked your idea of text as art. Written text really can be beautiful in a visual way.
