Multimedia Project – Digital Storytelling

For my multimedia project, I wanted to focus on a learning approach that could facilitate and encourage creative and innovative ways of communicating meaning and knowledge for students while promoting the development of 21st century skills.

I decided to create an infographic design about digital storytelling and why it can be a powerful learning tool. I used Piktochart, a program I stumbled upon while compiling resources for my rip.mix.feed project, to combine texts, images and video as a means to convey how digital storytelling can engage students, develop 21st century skills and improve learning experiences.

This was my first time using Piktochart and I really enjoyed it. One of the major challenges for me was deciding what information to include and choosing appropriate images and layout that would go along with the ideas I was presenting. However, what I liked most about Piktochart most was the creative freedom it gave me. While the program offered vast amounts of images to choose from, it also provided the option to upload your own pictures and videos. In addition, I could create links to other sites as well as incorporate my rip.mix.feed as part of the resources of my final project.

  1. Hey Rachel,

Awesome project! I loved the layout and have never used Picktochart before, looks like fun. You have some wonderful resources on here too and I am excited to try them out (lots in your rip.mix.feed project). Super helpful and simple way to gather your idea of digital storytelling. Thanks so much!

  2. Visually appealing presentation that incorporates text, images, video and resource links. You have introduced me to a great resource that I plan to try in the future. Thanks.
