Integrated Pedagogy – The New London Group vs. IBO’s PYP
I decided to integrate my multimedia project and making connections together. For the medium, I chose Padlet as it was one of the back-channel collaborative digital tools I referenced on my Rip.Mix.Feed pertaining to digitial literacy tools that work in China (sans VPN).
If you want more insight into this incredibly easy medium to use, be sure to watch the short and sweet videos found here.
Pros: Super easy to use along with initial setup, user friendly for all ages, works quick, easy modifiable, collaborative rights are easy to set with similar options to those found on other collaborative applications, can customize url and layout, plenty of sharing options, can upload a variety of media, and works on any device with plenty of apps and even a Chrome Extension.
Cons: Layout doesn’t adapt to device – especially mobile, only 3 options for layout – only the freeform option allows you to organise posts out of chronological order, and iframe embed code has issues.
Here’s the link to my assignment (alternatively, you can use the QR Code above).
Thanks for this Justin. It is a helpful summary of the approaches and you make helpful connections between the two.
