Exercise 2.8: Story

Dixit is a card game that has a thousand thoughts in one picture and is a game in which points are given to the person who guessed the correct pictures. Players can get points by guessing what the storyteller says among the cards. In addition, the storyteller can get points, too when the players answer the correct pictures. However, if everyone finds the right picture or no one finds it, the storyteller doesn’t get any points, while the other players get all points.

This game sparks players’ imagination because the players need to imagine what the storytellers tell the players by looking at the pictures. In addition, many metaphors and imaginary expressions are used to make it difficult to match, the players guess more, and they can see their changes in emotions while listening to the storyteller’s stories.

Therefore, there are many dramatic elements in this Dixit game including the story and narrative of the game from the pictures and it helps players and the storyteller to collaborate and makes them emotionally connected to the game.
