Learning Management Systems and Platforms

By the end of Unit 2 you will be able to:

• Analyse different LMSs and distinguish characteristics of their organizational functionality, pedagogical functionality, flexibility and adaptability;
• Formulate learning objectives for a digital course and design visual representation of its structure using LMS, platforms and digital tools;
• Analyse pedagogical functionality of LMS and select an optimal platform or a combination of instructional design tools for achieving specific learning objectives;
• Analyse organizational functionality of LMS and select an appropriate platform for particular institution, taking into account the organizational context and the forms of technology implementation;
• Apply your knowledge of the platforms’ functionality to inform organizational decision-making and the choice of methods for teaching with technologies;
• Understand the organizational security and individual data privacy standards established in different educational institutions, and implement these standards in instructional design and teaching.
