Tom Whyte<\/h3>\nHello everyone, my name is Tom Whyte and I currently live in Medicine Hat, Alberta. \u00a0I am a proud father of two high energy boys, that keep my wife and I very busy. \u00a0Professionally, I have taught Grade 5 to 12, with subjects ranging from Bio 30, Learning Assistance Language Arts, and Foods 9, throughout my 12 year career. \u00a0At this time, I am a middle school Math and Science teacher for Medicine Hat School District #76. \u00a0 I have always been very interested in the utilization of technology within the classroom, and have enhanced my classroom practices with many things I have learned throughout my MET courses.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\nGreetings from Newmarket, just north of Toronto. \u00a0I\u00a0am a secondary school communications technology and photography teacher in Richmond Hill, Ontario. \u00a0I serve on our schools Digital Literacy committee, advising our administrators on future technology purchases and new ways to integrate technology into our teaching practices. \u00a0With over 2000 students, our school is struggling to keep up with the demands for new technology and BYOD is a solution we are just beginning to consider.<\/p>\n
Hello from Kelowna, BC. \u00a0I work at Dr. Knox Middle school and teach Math and Science 8 and 9. \u00a0I am the Science Curriculum Leader at my school and always try to introduce technology to my department. \u00a0Our middle school is large and with no money in the budget for new laptops, BYOD might just be the way to go.<\/p>\n

Hi from Calgary. I am a Learning and Innovation Specialist with the Calgary Board of Education.\u00a0 My responsibilities include managing (from a pedagogical perspective) new and innovative technologies to implement in the classroom.\u00a0 Some of the new technologies are in the pilot stages and some are have been globally deployed to the entire board and are in full use.\u00a0 In the evenings I teach an adult upgrading math course to pre-university\/college students.\u00a0 Our board and department are always looking for ways to implement BYOD\/BYOT to engage our learners.\u00a0 The infrastructure is in place as we have WAPs installed all over our schools and students can access our LAWN (Learner Accessible Wireless Network).<\/p>\n
Hi! I am currently teaching Math and Science at Sino Canada School in China. I am excited about BYOT as a way to increase student motivation and engagement with content.
