Whetting the Appetite of you Stalkers =P
Sep 17th, 2010 by Eugene Chan
Hey,
I’m on a one semester exchange student from the University of Sydney, Australia (I have a personal blog on my Canadian exchange experience). I am a Chinese Australian and I also have Malaysian citizenship – my Mum was born in Hong Kong and has dual British and Australian citizenship and my Dad was born in Malaysia but he is actually Chinese. I have one younger brother.
I actually don’t study Business. Rather, I’m studying a combined double undergraduate degree in Science and Law (double degrees such as Commerce/Arts or Biomedical Engineering/Economics are very popular in Australia). Since I can’t study Canadian law, I have ‘room’ in my schedule to study non-law courses and so I’m studying 1st year French and 2nd year Marketing, which are my electives. For my Science courses, I’m studying a 3rd year Virology course and a 4th year Honours physiology course.
I’m really enjoying Marketing. Not only is the course content different to Science and Law, the teaching and delivery style, class dynamics and even the assignments have a very different feel. It is a very nice ‘escape’ from my science and law background.
Anyway, I don’t know what else to talk about myself but I guess you’ll find out more of me as you read more and more of my blogs. I hope that you enjoy them and don’t fall asleep half-way through reading them.
Enjoy!
Eugene

That’s an interesting course load you have. French, Marketing, and Virology? Quite diverse 🙂
Hope you’re liking UBC,

PS: Found your blog on the UBC Blogs page (I was on the homepage, and your blog was one of the randomly circulating ones there) and I recognized your name from the Vista forums 😛
Hi Eugene,
I’m a 3rd year Integrated Sciences student at UBC, and a regular follower of your blog. I’ve been blogging for UBC since first year, and over the next month I’m planning on doing a series of blogs on education. I’m trying to get a wide set of perspectives on this topic and I was hoping you might be able to provide some valuable insight.
I’ve compiled the questions in the following form:

Thank you very much for your time, and any response will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to pass on this survey to anyone you know.
