To me, there is nothing more whimsical and narrative inspiring than falling just short of your dreams. Using the wanning sunlight to imply an end of an era (childhood) the subject reaches for floating helium balloons just out of her grasp. What happens as we grow older and our childhood becomes further and further from our grasp – are they re-attainable?
Continuing my series once upon a time theme of out-dated waning childhoods, this piece explores what happens after an adolescent gives up on their childhood dreams.
The final piece of this series is of a child’s fort. A shelter from the outside world, it is a literal representation of ‘Once Upon a Time”
