I’m getting a little frustrated. I see something I want to reply to and get the message “You must be logged in to leave a reply”
So I log in. It takes me back to the main page (or worse, sometimes it takes me back to the UBC Blogs main page and I have to find my way back to this blog)
So I click on the post I want to reply to and get the message “You must be logged in to leave a reply”
You can see where this is going. I feel like I’m in an endless loop. Obviously I’m logged in, or I couldn’t post this rant.
So why can’t I reply to other posts?

EDIT: Ok, now I can click on someone else’s original post and then add a reply. The problem has been fixed, but I still get the feeling I was doing something wrong the first time.

That’s funny… you have the same rights as everyone else (‘Author’), so does any other non-admin have problems as well? Maybe the UBC Blogs site/server was malfunctioning at the moment?
Does it make a difference whether you log in by clicking the “You must be logged in to leave a reply” msg or use the ‘log in’ in the META box (bottom of sidebar)?
If this happens again, please let us know — maybe there’s some glitch the IT guys should be aware of!

Oh, I JUST experienced what you were talking about. After logging in, you haven’t actually logged in, but when you click log in again it says you are… what seems to have worked for me is: refresh the page after logging in, and see if the toolbar thing on the top appears — then you’re set to go.
