{"id":201,"date":"2010-12-05T12:06:58","date_gmt":"2010-12-05T20:06:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ewilliamson\/?p=201"},"modified":"2010-12-05T14:26:59","modified_gmt":"2010-12-05T22:26:59","slug":"decades-best-digital-ad-campaigns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ewilliamson\/2010\/12\/05\/decades-best-digital-ad-campaigns\/","title":{"rendered":"Decade&#8217;s Best Digital Ad Campaigns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There will be lots of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastcompany.com\/pics\/decades-10-best-digital-ad-campaigns\">decade-best lists<\/a> coming out now (depending on when you think the decade ended!)\u00a0 There has been a lot written about where advertising is, and isn&#8217;t, going in the future.\u00a0 These\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ewilliamson\/files\/2010\/12\/Screen-shot-2010-12-05-at-12.02.19-PM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-202\" title=\"Screen shot 2010-12-05 at 12.02.19 PM\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/ewilliamson\/files\/2010\/12\/Screen-shot-2010-12-05-at-12.02.19-PM-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>campaigns will give you something to think about.\u00a0 I remember when I started using the Subservient Chicken (Burger King&#8217;s out there digital ad) to explain how social marketing campaigns could work, to the tune of 380 million people!\u00a0 Interestingly, the Subservient Chicken, even though is 6 years old, took top spot.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the top campaigns.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve talked about many of these:<\/p>\n<p>1. &#8216;The Hire&#8217; &#8211; BMW&#8217;s 2001 series of short films directed &amp; starring well known actors and directors.\u00a0 This was an internet-only campaign designed to increase brand awareness amongst a younger target market<\/p>\n<p>2. Dove Evolution &#8211; of course<\/p>\n<p>3. Uniqlo&#8217;s Uniglock &#8211; Uniqlo, the cool Japanese apparel company that is taking over N. America, created the Uniqlock using pix of young, Japanese women show the time. \u00a0Time to call it a success: \u00a0Uniqlock.jp, received 68  million views.<\/p>\n<p>4. IKEA&#8217;s Dream Kitchens &#8211; this gave users the ability to avoid the crazy lineups and explore 3D kitchens. \u00a0Missed the $1.99 breakfast though.<\/p>\n<p>5.
