My beautiful UBC Education Students’ Association family! Being the UBC Senate Student Representative was the greatest experience ever.
Me rubbing shoulders with the greats of UBC Senate. I attended a luncheon for UBC Senate student representatives at President Toope’s residence.
Future teachers supporting some teachers in Saanich, BC during the 2014 strike. Solidarity, Yo!
One of the best parts of being in the teacher education program is the friends you make along the way. Here’s my friends and me having some down time playing a card game in the basement of Scarfe! #SWF4ever
Templeton Secondary Mandarin 11 students performing dragon dance at the Chinatown New Year Parade
One of the grade 12 students who was supposed to help carry the banner failed to show up, so I hopped in and blended in with my students! Great teacher-student bonding time!
Me teaching a lesson on useful informal English phrases to a class of second-year (grade 11) students at National Hualien Girls’ Senior High School in Taiwan.
Me giving a presentation on Canadian culture in a first year (grade 10) class at the National Hualien Girls’ Senior High School in Taiwan.
Cards that students from my CFE in Taiwan mailed me. They were such sweet students! My experience during my CFE taught me that students really do respond when you make a genuine effort to connect with them and just be yourself in front of them. Many students mentioned my bubbly personality and my cute laughter that made them feel like I really cared and allowed them to actually engage in the class which they normally treat like just another mandatory class where they learn by memorizing things.
