Welcome to Dr. Cathi’s blog, which highlights outstanding student work from The University of British Columbia. All the work included on this page was created by students in my courses and has been published with their permission.

While we study writing and literature in my classes, one aspect of such study is to take on the role of creator. I challenged my students to put on their creator hats and was thrilled by the energy and creativity they brought to their projects. I hope you enjoy reading this work as much as I did!

Note: the creative projects included here are only part of my students’ final projects. In addition to creating their own works, they also critically reflected on the process of writing one’s own creative project. Many of these students commented on how creating their own retelling of fairy tales led to a deeper understanding of the literature they read in my English 150 class.
