class=\"s2\">The exhibition <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Shapeshifters<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> gathers sculptural and installation <\/span><span class=\"s2\">work<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> created through the VISA-322 class. <\/span><span class=\"s2\">While each student had the freedom to develop their projects according to their own vision, several key themes have emerged.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">First, <\/span><span class=\"s2\">t<\/span><span class=\"s2\">he <\/span><span class=\"s2\">changing state of things<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> &#8211; both <\/span><span class=\"s2\">as a subject <\/span><span class=\"s2\">and<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> a process<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> &#8211; <\/span><span class=\"s2\">recurs throughout the works.<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> Concepts such as <\/span><span class=\"s2\">s<\/span><span class=\"s2\">hifting identities, impermanence of form<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">fluctuating<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> emotio<\/span><span class=\"s2\">ns<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> and cognitive struggle in an age of information are <\/span><span class=\"s2\">notions inspiring <\/span><span class=\"s2\">many <\/span><span class=\"s2\">pieces<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">While <\/span><span class=\"s2\">an<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">inquisitiveness<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> in the impermanence of things appears central, material <\/span><span class=\"s2\">transformation<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> is <\/span><span class=\"s2\">often<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> expressed <\/span><span class=\"s2\">in these works <\/span><span class=\"s2\">through<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">the exploitation<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">of <\/span><span class=\"s2\">essential characteristics of matter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s2\">Finally, t<\/span><span class=\"s2\">he <\/span><span class=\"s2\">materialization of absence<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">is<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">a significant concern<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. <\/span><span class=\"s2\">How <\/span><span class=\"s2\">can we give form to the intangible? <\/span><span class=\"s2\">What<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">shape<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">does<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">loss<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> take<\/span><span class=\"s2\">,<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> or<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">touch<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> between two <\/span><span class=\"s2\">people<\/span><span
