Audio Storytelling
Due Today: Twine Remediation
With thanks to purveyors like Red Man Laughing, Métis in Space, and Media Indigena, podcasting has become a vital medium for Indigenous peoples to share information, build community, and decolonize media. Looking towards your own audio storytelling projects, today’s class is an introduction to Indigenous podcasting, contextualized within the larger history of audio activism.
In today’s workshop, you will select a partner and begin planning for your audio storytelling assignment. Make sure that you are assigned to either group 1 or group 2 for the CiTR workshops in the following 2 weeks.
Dr. David Dunkley Gyimah, Asper Visiting Professor in Digital Media, will be joining us today for a guest lecture at 2pm.
Today we will also be visited by a volunteer from the Indigenous Radio Collective, who will share some of the podcasting/broadcasting opportunities available at UBC.
