The notice of the event is shown at the bottom of this page.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Resources<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While some ideas were shared at the forum, there are more resources available for those who are interested in engaging businesses to help create healthier, sustainable communities.  There is no one-size-fits-all approach. The full report can be accessed through the Goodpurpose website upon registration.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.channels.com\/episodes\/show\/13156923\/Rethinking-Capitalism\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Rethinking Capitalism<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nSource: Harvard Business Review (via channels.com)<br \/>\nThis <em><strong>video<\/strong><\/em> shows an interview with Michael E. Porter, who is a Harvard University professor who published an article (with Mark R. Kramer) in the Harvard Business Review (2011) on the idea of \u201ccreating shared value.\u201d  The premise is that companies can create products and services that benefit not only the company but also society.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.metrovancouver.org\/about\/publications\/Publications\/SustainablePurchasing1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Sustainable Purchasing Guide<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nSource: Metro Vancouver<br \/>\nThis <em><strong>guide<\/strong><\/em> presents an approach to sustainable purchasing with some examples of success stories.  In addition to small- and medium-sized companies, the guide is also useful for large companies, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #c11b17;\">Note: This is a past event. The event, however, is open to anyone who is interested in the topic of how businesses can help create a better society.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of the forum is to encourage participants to learn, share, and network.<\/p>\n<p>An educational, interactive application on how businesses can help create a better society will be produced from this event.
