I moved to Vancouver a few months later and I have loved living here ever since. I defended my Master&#8217;s thesis in Sociology in August 2010 and went on to complete my PhD in Sociology, from which I just recently graduated (April 2016).<\/p>\n<p>My research interests include sexuality and gender, vulnerable youth, education, social inequality, queer theory, health inequities, and popular culture.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of work, I love spending time hiking around Coast Salish territories with my dog, playing board games with lots of tiny pieces, and eating dark chocolate.<\/p>\n<p>I use the pronouns they\/them\/their as well as she\/her\/hers, and often struggle with French&#8217;s obsession with gendered language.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am a Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Fellow at The University of British Columbia, currently splitting my time between the Stigma and Resilience Among Vulnerable Youth Centre (SARAVYC) at the School of Nursing, and the Department of Sociology.
