My Flight Path through ETEC465

1. I am being asked to become our school district expert in LMS and more specifically Moodle ( we do not have one). I have limited experience with Moodle but this past year I have had an opportunity to attend some quick and dirty professional development on some of the tools available in Moodle.  I was also given some access to a neighboring school boards Moodle site to explore it. It looks like we will be finally moving to a LMS and offering some online courses both hybrid and some distance education.  Right now it looks like Moodle in our district.
2. I would like to think that my repertoire of digital tools is pretty good but as a classroom teacher I am always looking for ways to engage students and to provide them an environment where they can be in control of their learning.  This course and the other students in this course are an opportunity and a resource to pick up some new tools and maybe more importantly get some ideas on how to “use all the tools in the shed” for the benefit of my teaching and my students.
3. I would like to have developed a complete course for my students by the time I am finished this course.  I have a colleague that want to work with me in this regard and I am hoping to learn from my cohort in ETEC565 and to benefit from the vast knowledge and experience that they have.

I’ll have to see how my flight goes.  As many have said,  “it is not the destination but the journey”, so I have planned a journey with a final destination unknown.
