Canadian fur farms in the Province of Ontario have been repeatedly targeted by an underground group called the Animal Liberation Front (ALF). Thousands of mink were freed from farms across the province during 2013 and once again in 2015.  The mink breeders association of Ontario responded by offering a hundred thousand dollar bounty leading to a conviction of the persons responsible (Rice, 2015). Similar acts have been performed by activists in Minnesota (Chasmar, 2017).
