Final Project: Assistive Technologies for Reading and Writing

I wanted to include a bit of context for my final project. I chose to use a podcast-style audio recording because of the topic I chose. I’m not terribly experienced in editing audio, but I had some familiarity with GarageBand. The process was far more complex than I anticipated, which was a valuable reminder of just how demanding writing can be for individuals with exceptionalities.

It was especially tricky to accept how difficult it was to manage the project in terms of time, rather than number of words. In hindsight, I would have focused more on creating a script. This was a significant realization, since I was still highly dependent on writing to create the final product. I admittedly compromised on depth of content for the sake of keeping the final product manageable.
