The Map of the United States was retrieved from the Environmental Systems Research Institute. Our count data for shootings across the United States were retrieved from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and it was normalized using count data using ArcMap. On our map, we created a choropleth map of homicides across the United States and overlaid the data with proportional circles showing deaths related to firearms across the United States. A map of Canada was created with gun-related violence and homicides. This data was retrieved from Statistics Canada and was joined onto the base map of Canada. A choropleth map was created displaying gun-related deaths. Proportional symbols were created to display homicides that have occurred and this data is laid on top of the choropleth map of Canada.
