Lagos is one of the fastest growing cities in Africa as well as the epicenter of the continent’s financial trade. However, as the supply of housing struggles to keep up with the population growth, it is uncertain how the development of infrastructure will proceed.

We focus on how the city of Lagos, Nigeria is addressing a major housing crisis by adapting to their unique waterfront location on the Atlantic Ocean. We discuss current developments occurring at two sites: Eko Atlantic and Makoko. We chose Lagos because we have an interest in the effects of development projects in mega-cities and how they affect the massive crowds of urban dwellers.
