Ilaine’s interests include transportation, GIS, and participatory planning methodologies. I am familiar with many of the issues facing rural transportation systems. I have on school travel planning studies in Vancouver, and promoting equitable infrastructure investments for cycling and transit in Los Angeles. I am excited to have an opportunity to share my knowledge with the Social Planning Council. I hope our project can make a meaningful and long-lasting impact on mobility and quality of life for the communities around Williams Lake.

Like some of my research partners I too am in the environment and sustainability program within the geography department. I was drawn to working with the social council because of the diversity of individuals that we’ll be working with and for the research topics described to us. I’m excited to get started and looking forward to visit Williams Lake.
Stephanie Soo
Hi there this is Stephanie. I am a fourth year human geography and economics student. Some of my more broad academic interests include community development and geopolitics. I’m excited to be collaborating with the SPC and learning more about the Williams Lake community as I have never been to the Cariboo region before. I am hoping we can contribute to making positive changes and develop/refine some skills in the process.
Stella Zhou
My name is Stella and I am a third year Geography student focusing on environment and sustainability. My academic interest have been around urban development issues, city planning and building sustainable communities. I have a passion in travelling and have been to many places, so I am really excited to do our research in the Caribbo Region. I believe that Canadian cities and towns has their own unique structure; I am thrilled to learn more about the region and work with the council in our team to help improve the social well-being of local communities.
