September 2014:
- Field trip to Cougar Creek and other surrounding alluvial fans
- Conduct literature review on alluvial fan dynamics
- Finish flume set-up
- Run preliminary experiment (no sediment load) in order to test flume functionality
- Develop experimental design based on preliminary experiment and literature review
October to December 2014:
- Conduct an experiment in which a series of increasingly large flows are run through the
experimental stream channel
- Throughout this process, review results and develop codes to run analysis
January 2015:
- Develop a report outlining the experiments and the results
- Propose, based on the results, other future avenues of investigation
- Start developing from Engage Plus grant application
February 2015:
- Finish report
- Wrap up meeting with UBC and BGC
- Apply for Engage Plus grant
