The map produced here is a Multi-Criteria Evaluation map for the York Region that shows the level of community security and safety. A couple of dissemination areas are blank to to null values from the original dataset. Suitability for each variable ranged from 1 to 10, resulting in the MCE with a range of 2.8 to 10. Similar to the Economic Vitality MCE, south of Vaughan and Markham are areas with the lowest score of suitability, reflecting the high crime rates (Breaking & Entering and Assault) and a high number of households spending more than 30% of their income on just housing costs. Newmarket also has a very low suitability score, despite surrounding dissemination areas have significantly higher scores.
