When choosing my top 10 pieces of music from the Golden Record, I found myself instantly gravitating towards songs that sounded familiar to me. I also chose songs with softer melodies and/or had a relaxing tone to it.  I found myself fast forwarding through songs that had more of an intense beat to it and did not sound comforting. I often find comfort in music which could explain why I didn’t find the songs that had an intense and frightening beat to it sound comforting.

  1. Hey Georgia, I found it really interesting that you chose songs that evoked postive feelings and revoked negative one for your curation! I never thought of this criteria while creating my own curation but, I can see how the notion of how music makes one feel is a strong one and being that we don’t actually know if ET’s feel, it is definitely a thought provoking notion at that.

  2. Hi Georgia,
We have quite a few songs in common on our lists. I think it is so interesting now that I have looked through a few other of our classmate’s song selections that a few songs have really stood out and been chosen by nearly everyone that I have seen (Beethoven’s 5th symphony and Melancholy Blues). I noticed that you chose three Bach pieces, is there a specific reason why they all made it onto your list or were they just more familiar/ enjoyable?
