A successful manager does not only look for money but also focuses on the wellbeing of the company. When placing new policies to achieve a high level of profitability, a company should also keep an eye on the impact it may induce on its employees.

As Air Canada’s new policy has arisen customer hostility, which directly triggers employee dissatisfaction, the company should provide incentives to comfort takers of such a tough job, as Raza has mentioned. Job quit usually happens when there is fragile human resources management, and Air Canada is experiencing such a weakness since employees were reported upset and frustrated. To add on Raza’s suggestion of hiring volunteers to alleviate employee discontent, the company should also offering its employees a portion of the profit since an estimated extra revenue of tens of millions of dollars will be generated by the new policy.

It is never wrong to properly treat employees as they have direct contact with customers and play an exceptionally crucial role of maintaining strong customer relationships. The happier the employees, the bigger amount of effort they tend to devote into their jobs that will eventually benefit the company in the long run.
