- Population of Vancouver
- Population of Canada
We will be asking 25 individuals in each age group with a total of 125 subjects. This can keep our data consistent among the age groups. Our sample is representative of the Canadian population because Vancouver is highly populated, urbanized, medium sized city and so reflects many cities across Canada. Furthermore Vancouver’s population is culturally very similar to that of the rest of Canada, and so can be made representative for the entire country. Our hypothesis is based on the sample group representing the population because, as aforementioned, Vancouver’s population has similar characteristics to other populated cities in Canada. Our study benefits from sample analysis rather than population analysis because it is nearly impossible to survey the population as this analysis would not only be time-consuming and expensive, but also organizationally impossible.
