Apple users are still buzzing with excitement from the new release of the iPhone 5. The new phone comes with a larger screen, thinner model, faster transfers, a nano sim card, and a fingerprint scan to unlock the phone. Although these new features have made the iPhone 5 a topic of technological interest, leading competitor Samsung seems to have a step above Apple this time.

Over the weekend I came across an interesting commercial ad on TV, which made me pause and turn my head during my turkey dinner. With the Galaxy S3, Samsung has managed to paint the image that iPhone’s are a phone of the past through this advertisement. The ad mocks the iPhone, pointing out that the phone, really, hasn’t changed and that the target consumer base is for an older generation. Simultaneously, Samsung has been able to communicate points of parity to the the consumers. One key difference is the new Galaxy S3 comes with advanced sharing systems which, among numerous other characteristics, appeals to a younger, newer consumer base. Thus, through this strategic marketing scheme seemingly makes the Samsung Galaxy S3 a better phone than Apple’s.

The question is, will Apple retaliate?
