Hi, everyone 🙂
I am HAILEY from KOREA.
Do you know where it is?
If you say ‘Yes, I do!’, it’ll be just awesome!!! But if not, it’ll still be okay because I’ll let you know about it by my upcoming posting! So never mind 😉
Anyway, there are 5 things I love to do, and I think listing those things can give you an explanation about WHO I AM like my personality or identity.
1.
I love learning English language and have a lot of interest in Western culture: that’s why I am staying in Vancouver BC, Canada right now.
Not only English, but I am also interested in other languages like French and Japanese. I believe that trying to understanding about different cultures always helps me widen my horizon of perception towards the world. That’s why I chose to stay in Vancouver, too! Every second in this city, I am inspired by its diversity. Only after 2 weeks since the day I arrived in Vancouver, I started loving this city and can’t stop it. How wonderful! XD
2.
I like travel. Living in my own country, I spent as much time as possible on travelling here and there. Like English Bay or Coal Harbour in Vancouver, there are a lot of beautiful beaches in Korea to see. So I really loved walking along one of those.
Not only just seeing the views or taking pictures, I also enjoy talking with some new people I meet during the trip. It is always exciting to make conversations with them because people usually get them more open especially when we are in totally different places. Then I can easily get to them more closer, and so do them. How lucky! If I have enough time while staying here, I really want to have some opportunities to go somewhere like Victoria, Rockey mt., or Whistler. I really hope so!!!
3.
I love seeing movies. There are not always good movies in the theater, but we can still find something good and worth discussing on. In my opinion, good movies have to make people thinking. I know there are a lot of factors like visuals or narrations which I need to study more later, but all of them are secondary important compared to that. If there were a movie taken by a well-trained camera director and written by a really famous writer, but not directed without any serious consideration about what they want to say-It is only my assumption. If they are really successful in their field, they must not leave the movie in that unstable stage.-, the movie will be rejected by people like me.
So… anyway, I really look forward to going to a theater to see movies-improving my listening skills, too!- and then sharing my idea with a lot of different people staying in this city :^)
4.
I like watching some documentary film dealing with environmental issues. That is one of the biggest issues in the world. So, I am always trying to have a respect for nature, but it is hard to keep it as living in Korea. What I often do on one of the streets in Seoul, Korea is just picking up the garbage on the street and putting it away into the waste box. It is a simple way to make me a little satisfied, but almost every people ask me not to touch that dirty thing and just to ignore that even though I feel uncomfortable! Because Korea is still developing country, it has been facing some serious social issues like the pollution than before.
So, I really want to get some ideas from citizens of Vancouver about how to make people change their thinking ways or simply how to keep our city clean and neat while staying here. I hope that I can make a chance for it 🙂
5.
Singing a song is also one of my favorite things to do. While walking in downtown, I tried to figure out if there is any GARAOKE for me in this city and finally found one. Unfortunately, however, it was too expensive for its short time limit. So, now I think the best time and place to sing a song privately-I am extremely shy person! Don’t recommend me busking on the street.- is in my shower booth while taking a shower. I am so thoughtful that I don’t usually do that on weekdays. On weekends, after my room mate leaves the house, I start enjoying my time! I am seeking for the private place to sing a song all the time, so tell me if you have any XD
I think it is enough. Bye 😉
