Assessment Reflection

For my assessment section in my Moodle course, I set up 5 multiple choice questions, 5 matching questions, 3 short answer questions, and 2 essay questions. Initially I found the experience a little frustrating because I was struggling with the actual construction of the quiz. Once I figured out how the questions were inserted into the quiz it went much smoother. I actually enjoyed the process and found that the more I did, the easier it became. I have found the Moodle guide book supplied in the course to be invaluable in this area.

I definitely have plans to use this feature of Moodle next school year. I can easily see using this feature to load in practice government exams for Social Studies 11. The students could then access this resource as a practice tool for the real government exam. This would cut down on the considerable amount of paper that I end up producing every year in preparation for the government exams and I could see it being more helpful for the students as I could provide feedback in this format that would be meaningful to them.

Overall, I enjoyed this unit because I was able to create something concrete that is relevant to my context. As we are introducing Moodle in our district next year, I feel this experience has been invaluable. My plan is to create a Moodle component to my course that will act as an extra resource for my students to use during the year.
