Mental Health Services and Resources For Children and Youths

There are a number of Child and Youth Mental Health programs and services being offered at BC Children’s Hospital and the Sunny Hill Centre for Children. Assessment and treatments for children and youth by trained professionals are provided at these centres. All programs and clinics require referrals from physicians.

Mental Health and Resources For The General Public

BC Mental Health & Addiction Services is a provincial agency that provides tertiary mental health services. The following services are provided for the public:

Heretohelp is a project of the BC Partners for Mental Health and Addictions Information. These resources provide information and support group networks where patients and families can communicate with other patients diagnosed with mental illnesses and connect with other families who may be facing similar situations. Heretohelp is comprised of 7 nonprofit agencies:

Support Centres

The Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre is a BC provincial resource centre that links children, youth, and their families with resources in mental health and addictions. Resources for adults with an eating disorder is also provided. The Help Finder function also directs you to appropriate services depending on whether it is an emergency situation or not.
