Aizoaceae

Characteristics: Low succulent with brilliant magenta flowers. Typically flowering in June then sporadically through the summer. “Ice plant” because of the crystalline bumps on leaves that reflect light and appear as frost. Stoloniferous, spreading 65-70cm across. From South Africa.

Growing conditions: Excellent green-roof plant. Needs great drainage. Sun. Goes well with seedums.

Limitations: Can’t tolerate shade at all- don’t plant with grasses.
