Characteristics: Leaves look like they’ve been dipped in red wine. Rarely, if ever, flowers. A pleasant-looking, upright grass that doesn’t grow very tall.

Growing conditions: Very well-behaved with well-drained soil and summer irrigation. Suitable for containers. Rhizomatous.

Limitations: Doesn’t tolerate traffic. The green variety is very aggressive/invasive.
