It’s been 2+ years since I’ve written this. Let’s see how much I’ve changed since then. All edits made in July 2012 are in italics
Who? Me?
I feel like a narcissist today, talking about myself so much.
To keep this short…
5 Facts:
-I’m Canadian, and I grew up in Vancouver.
-Despite being able to go home to my mom’s delicious cooking, I like eating sandwiches for breakfast, which I did not know was not normal. Or conventional. I have now switched to eating another breakfast! Organic yogurt!!!!!!! mmmmmmm
-I still walk in awe around the UBC campus. Every few weeks or so, I find a building I did not know existed. Still true. I had class in Forestry last term, and I wound up walking around and exploring the engineering and LFS buildings. I even stumbled upon E-Week, when there was some awesome outdoor dodgeball in the rain going on!
-My most favourite place to eat on campus is a tie between Sprouts and the Pendulum (SUB basement). Still true.
-I’m a FAACT Learning Team Leader and an International Peer Program group leader. I encourage you to join-it’s free, fun and you get to meet awesome people! Sadly, FAACT and IPP are no longer in existence. They were great programs, but they were just merged into other programs. I had two great years there. I am now a Squad Leader for UBC Orientations (Imagine Day! and transitions!) and the Vice President of Phrateres UBC. All four organizations have had strong impacts on the lives of many participants and the leaders that ran them. I would highly encourage you to join the organizations I am part of.
1 Fun Fact:
-I wanted to become a figure skating coach when I was growing up. I still do. That’s why if you want to learn to skate, don’t hesitate to ask. Take advantage of this great deal when admission is still free at the UBC Arena! Some things never change. I still love doing this!
1 Bonus fun fact: I tried out “Latin Funk” during Shopping Week at UBC Rec and it was one of the most fun and highly recommended experiences of my term 2!
One more: My full first name is Alison.
La Blog
Since I spent the last while on setting up this blog, which will have an awesome layout soon(er or later), I decided to write a little.
Why “Here, here and here?” It’s my most favourite album possibly of all time by one of my top 5 most favourite bands. Original, eh? Well, the album is just that great. I still love the band, and one of the lead singers of Meg and Dia, Dia Frampton, finished second in The Voice, season 1. She released an album called “Red”, which is constantly played on my Zune music player.
