Pirate Bay co-founder arrested in Thailand

  Hans Fredrik Lennart Neij, one of the founders of the Pirate Bay has been arrested under the Interpol warrant as he was crossing into Thailand from Laos.  Neij, along with other Pirate Bay co-fouders, was convicted of aiding copyright infringement by a court in sweden in 2009.  Pirate Bay is a website where music, movies, games and applications are pirated. The US film and music industries have for years pursued strong legal action against sites such as Pirate Bay, which they say aid the illegal distribution of copyrighted material. First Nation chiefs urge the Harper government to reject BC Hydro’s $8-billion Site C hydroelectric mega project. BC Hydro wants to construct and operate a dam and 1,100-megawatt hydroelectric generating station on the Peace River in northeastern British Columbia.The dam would flood 83 kilometers of the Peace River Valley from near Fort St. John to Hudson’s Hope, destroying farmland and wildlife habitat. McDonald’s recalls Hello Kitty whistle toy.

  McDonald’s is recalling a Hello kitty-Themed whistle given to children in Happy Meals, citing a chance they could choke on some of its parts.   The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Monday that two children have reportedly coughed out pieces of the whistle that they had sucked into their mouths, including one child who received medical attention. The safety agency said that parts of the three-inch-tall “Hello Kitty Birthday Lollipop” whistle can detach and be inhaled, posing a risk to small children. McDonald’s said about 2.5 million whistles were manufactured,…read more

Royal bank of Canada introduces a new payment system which allows its customers to pay their bills with a wristband.   Technology is now going to change the way we shop. Maruti Suzuki India limited is an automobile manufacturer based in India, which is a subsidiary of Japanese automobile and motorcycle manufacturer Suzuki. Ziyu’s blog talks about how McDonalds, A famous North American burger chain, plans to innovate its menu. She talks about how McDonald’s in western Sydney has recently unveiled an upgraded ordering approach which allows its customer to choose from 19 options of different ingredients and toppings on a touch screen.
