Primary Goal of This Mesocycle:   Strength & Power (off-season)

Week 9 – Week 16

Alright, its time to see what you got! The second mesocycle has a primary focus on Strength & Power and will test your true abilities. Strength training consists purely of dead-heavy weight at every set and rep. It will make the muscles scream and beg you to stop. Strength is important as an athlete in many ways. Being the stronger of two athletes gives advantages and a greater sports benefit. Being a stronger athlete than the guy beside you means you’re the boss and what you say goes.

Although, strength means nothing if you cant tap into it quickly. Power tests one’s ability to produce maximum force in the shortest amount of time possible. The faster you can move out of the way, accelerate, or flat out crush another athlete the harder the game becomes for your opponents. Needless to say both of these are important aspects especially at the position this athlete plays.

Get ready for back breaking lifts and agonizing pain, pick up the weights and hit the gym!
