Moodle

One of the challenging tasks that I have seen in ETEC 565A is the technical side of the course. Yes, there is a lot of theory and there is a considerable amount of literature that holds it; still, the big part of the course is how to transfer the theory into a virtual practical platform that is designed to reflect an effective layer of learning.   There is no doubt MOODLE task is considered as one of the most interesting tasks in the course. At least the way I look at it because I love technology and its application in the field of learning and teaching. Building a MOODLE-based platform is like running a chemical experiment in a lab. One can see what will happen when the ingredient of the experiment react with one another. This is the way I look at MOODLE and how its components work. I feel that if one of the components doesn’t conform with the general flow of MOODLE, its position will be weak. It will devalue the whole platform if not treated properly. The flexibility MOODLE offers lurks in the way it is built.

Working on MOODLE is really enriching. I am as an educator believe that MOODLE is a great source of knowledge not only for the learners only but to teachers as well. It is. I mentioned the word “ enriching” because the wok reflected in MOODLE can guide the designer in the way he or she puts things together in this platform.

Working on MOODLE is engaging because one has to get involved. There is no theory here to read. There is practice. Once you started , you will feel that you are encouraged by the way things are designed in MOODLE to build a full-fledged online class. There is also something that I would like to mention about our educational platform which is the sense of creativity that one can show and work on. The more creative and more imaginative one is, the greater the results will be. I can say that MOODLE can be a successful and constructive platform if things are built creatively.
