At the back of my head I was always like “I will do law right now because maybe that’s the best option for me but after I’m done with it, I’m definitely going to do a master’s in psychology”. When I started studying for the law entrance exam I was just really bad at it. My dad sits me down and is like “do you really want to do this?” I think this is one of the most dramatic moments in my life, my dad doesn’t even talk that much! I was like, to be honest, I’m doing it because I didn’t know what else to do. I was not exposed that much to decide between different career options. Growing up I only saw lawyers, law, and politics.

My best friend was applying abroad everywhere. I was a lost kid, I was like “nope I’m not leaving the country”. She was applying to the UK, Canada, and the States. So I was like okay let me start looking up these courses. The only school I applied to in Canada was UBC. Honest confession, I applied because I loved the name! Since then, I was like this is one of the best impromptu decisions I’ve made in my life. I had never been to Canada before, let alone North America. This excitement really takes over you and you don’t really think about what it’s going to be like. I never thought about how hard it would be, will I be able to make friends, what life is like. I wasn’t even sure how cold it would get! Experiencing all that firsthand by myself has taught me so much about myself and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

“I grew up in a family of lawyers, so when it came to deciding what I wanted to do in…

["post-81","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
