Human Rights and Justice

In this class we will investigate human rights as a normative framework and what is revealed when we investigate human agency in local historical contexts. What tensions emerge? What politics arise? How does human agency contest domination and violence, and shape notions of rights, responsibility and justice? How do acts of protest, memory, resistance, or storytelling provide new insight into multiple and contested humanlarge rights and justice claims?
