Project Info/Research
LITERATURE REVIEW
We conducted research into existing archival information, literature, and documented oral histories.
VISUAL IDENTITY RESEARCH
INTERVIEWS
We reached out to community organizations with a large Hong Konger audience (for example HK House, an organization based in Vancouver). Through building these community connections, we seeked out interviewees and conducted interviews with them. Interviewees were also found through our own personal connections to folks who migrated from Hong Kong to Canada.
In our interviews, other than learning basic information around people’s migration experiences, we focused on asking questions around the specific feelings that they had during this process, as well as visually striking moments.
VR DEVELOPMENT
With the above information, we developed four different VR experiences using Unreal Engine.
