Welcome to Part I of IB Language A: Works in Translation! Over the course of the next 10 weeks, we will be studying:

1. Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

2. The Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima

3. No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre

 

Expectations:

1. Respect: students are expected to be on time and to engage in active and respectful participation in all class activities, discussions and assignments.

2. Read: students are expected to read all required texts thoroughly and to keep up with any additional readings assigned.

 

Assignments per text:

1. Reading quizzes/analysis paragraphs

2. Interactive Oral & Reflective Statement

3. Supervised Essay

 

*The major assignment for Part I Works in Translation is the Written Assignment (1500 words) focusing on one of the texts we study; this paper will be externally assessed by IB. The Interactive Oral, Reflective Statement and Supervised Essay for each text will work towards this paper. For more information please click here.
