Week 03- 01.22

Previously we examined the artistic possibilities of the constitutive elements (in lack of a better term) of the digital image: pixel, resolution, image size, manipulation, etc.

For this project we will continue that ‘playing’ with the image in much the same way. The most important difference is that we now will examine the relation image – real:

Take 5 snapshots of objects (or people, or images) which are part of your everyday, anything which sight is very familiar. You might want to consider taking the photos from the same angle you usually see them.

Use the same approach than last time to manipulate the photos: employ with any elements/tools that will allow you to de-familiarize the image. Explore various possibilities: partial or total defacement, color variations, etc.

For those not too familiar with Photoshop, please challenge yourself to incorporate new tools. Here are some tutorials you can easily get a hand on:
